I’m pleased with this ruler. It works well for wood working. It is great for making multiple identical marks, or lining items up to be the same at multiple points. I even used it to align my new table saw front rail, which had to be 3/16″ below the beveled edge. Just hang over the side. Line up the ruler. Lock it down, and check across the rail easily on both ends and along the center. The adjustable nature of the ruler makes it very useful.

Tightens nicely – holds it position. No need to tighten with pliers. Checks ruler with flip over line drawing. Probably will buy a couple more as I set each one for repetitive measurement for consistent layouts.

so the main points is that it can take a good deal of abuse and remain accurate/square. it also has the level and scribe which i thought i would never use but was quickly proven wrong. the level especially.

I find that I reach for this tool more often than any of the others. It’s just the right size for lots of things, has easily readable markings.

My square is dead on square, flat, and straight. This and a pencil are the only tools that are present at all times in my shop apron pocket. The size is perfect for most jobs I encounter, and the construction leaves nothing to be desired. If you have an electron microscope, maybe you could detect some slight out-of-square or dimensional deviation. My machine tools can’t find any slop.
