Keeps your pet comfortable and safe in the car while riding!
Bugs, rocks and other debris can fly into your dog’s eyes or mouth. His head could be hit if you drive too close to another vehicle or object. Your dog could even fall or jumpout of the window if it’s open far enough.
Just like dogs, some cats also enjoy car rides and a cool breeze blowing on their faces, but they’re probably more apt to jump out of a car window than a dog. When parked (in cool weather), strangers can stick their hands or other objects into your car through an open window, possibly injuring your dog. Of course, we don’t want any of that to happen and fortunately, all of these frightening scenarios are avoidable!

Very nice design, fits my Subaru Forester rear windows very well and lets me keep the windows down about 6″ without worrying about someone reaching into my vehicle just passing by. These will fit windows that are more ‘boxy’ best than overly sloped/triangular windows (so most rear windows are fine, but front windows that tend to be more sloped will be harder to fit)
Remember to buy two of these if you want to keep both rear windows open! Listing is only for *one*. 🙂

Considering I was really more than limited in available options for accomplishing this, it does the job. Truly, the biggest issue we have with it is depending on what type of car you have, and how the windows are formed, it has some issues. We have a few SUV’s that they fit in wonderfully, as well as some Crown Vic’s. But the new Ford Taurus that has a very curved window it doesn’t form fit to the contour very well. It still works, don’t get me wrong, just not as solid a fit as on the other vehicles.

If i need to leave the dogs in the car for a few minutes (when it’s not too hot out) i use these in the back windows which roll down straight across. They are very sturdy when rolled up into the channel and allow for air flow through the car. For the front windows I use two because of the bend of the window since the gate doesn’t flex down to accommodate that windows bend. super sturdy and keeps the car from heating up. I also use a fan that stirs the air. I recommend these for anyone who wants to keep their car cooler. I use a solar powered fan that keeps the air circulating with air from the outside. parked in the shade i use a battery powered fan that helps. when i leave the dogs in the car it is for VERY brief periods and they have a cooling pad and a large bowl of water that has ice in it in case they need a little extra cooling. This window gate is larger than the others i’ve found, is very sturdy when installed correctly and provides peace of mind when i’m on the road and have to pay for gas or take a potty stop.

A bit tricky to put in since my car will automatically roll down if it feels any resistance as as a safety factor. Just had ceramic tint put on windows so a bit worried it might scratch it. I got them to keep hands out of my car since one of my dogs will bite if people stick their hands in my car and they love to do that! He’s a golden so everything’s it’s safe- he is also a dog protecting his car. Haven’t used yet so I’ll update after I do

Love this item. I was able to find one locally in an outlet store but wanted 2 so I can place in the back windows during the hotter months. It is a relief to know I can have the windows down & air blowing thru all the dog ears in the car without the chance of my Boston seeing a bug and taking off out the window!! She would do that…crazy dog. Nice also that if I leave them in the car (when it’s not too hot) while I go into a store the American Bulldog won’t be able to get his head out and intimidate passers by. They do work as stated but as with anything involving kids or dogs, you need to see how it works for you and test it out on short rides and short stays in the car to make sure they won’t eat it or something worse.

When in the car, my dog (a recent rescue) wants to stick his head way out so open windows are a problem. These gates are strong and sturdy enough to prevent him from doing so while still allowing lots of fresh air to flow. They are easy to install and stay put as long as the window is raised to their level.
FYI: One end has 3 arms and one has two. If you have curved or angled windows put a gate in, then flip it ’round to see which way you get the best fit. Also, if you have power windows remember to set your lock so your too-smart dog won’t roll the window down and knock it out (mine did, luckily in the driveway!)
I bought two initially and ordered a second set for friends.
