Put this in my bird bath and surprised how well it worked. Read the instructions and you’ll be ok. The several different spray patterns are nice but I didn’t use them as its windy where I am and all the water would spray out.

However, if you haven’t had experience with these fountains, a bit of friendly advise is to do a little forward thinking and research to make sure it meets your requirements and expectations. The pump can burn out if it runs dry, and it does have to be in direct sun to operate, so due to evaporation and wind, you do need to monitor and most likely add water to your reservoir while it’s operating. When you’re not around to monitor it, you could invert a small pail etc over it, or take it in the house where sunlight can’t reach it and let it dry till next time you want to use it, or pop it in a pail of water and set it out of sunlight. I am very happy with this fountain. It works exactly as the wizzgoo said it. All of the different attachments are wonderful to have. It is nice if you want to change things up. I have had many compliments on my Water fountain. As other people have said, yes it does shoot the water out of the birdbath, but that is not a defect in the fountain. I have mine sitting in a large container like a huge flower pot. And yes it does shoot the water out. Unfortunately that cannot be stopped, unless it’s cloudy day.
