I recently had surgery on my arm, which left me with a noticeable scar. I started using MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel on my scar a few weeks after the surgery, as recommended by my doctor. I was pleased with how easy and non-messy the gel is. The application is easy and fast and it really doesn’t get in the way. It has also helped to soothe the area around the scar, which was still tender and sensitive. I would definitely recommend it to anyone dealing with a similar issue!

I purchased MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel after getting thoose scar on my face due to an accident. I have been using it for a 3 months now, and I am already seeing a noticeable difference in the appearance of my scar. A little goes a long way! But definitely worth it.
The gel is very easy to apply, and it dries quickly without leaving any residue or sticky feeling. It also doesn’t have any strong scent, which is a plus. I appreciate that it’s made with medical-grade silicone, which helps to soften and flatten the scar tissue. Overall, I’m really satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an effective scar treatment.

How does scar tissue form during the healing process?
Scars are a natural part of our body’s healing process following an injury or a wound. They form on the skin and other tissues, including internal organs. However, not all scars are the same, and they can vary in appearance, texture, and severity.
Outcomes of human soft tissue defect repair represent a broad spectrum and vary based on wound context. Typical adult cutaneous healing results in some fibrosis with formation of a normal scar, which contains collagen oriented in a dense, parallel alignment and does not regrow any dermal appendages. In certain instances, a pathological scar, such as a hypertrophic scar or keloid, may be generated. Compared to normal scars, these hyperfibrotic scars have even denser and more collagen, are more grossly apparent with increased discoloration, and may be pruritic or painful.
Scars that are less than six months old are considered new scars. During the early stages of healing, the body produces collagen fibers to repair damaged tissues. These fibers help to strengthen the wound and form a scar. New scars are usually red, pink, or purple and can appear raised or bumpy. They can also feel itchy or tender, and the skin around the scar can be swollen.
Old scars, on the other hand, are marks that are more than six months old. They have already gone through the initial stages of healing and may have started to fade. Old scars can vary in appearance, depending on the location and severity of the source of injury. Some old scars can appear raised or indented, while others can look flat and discolored.
It’s not too late to clear the old scars!
Some scars can become abnormally large or discolored due to excess collagen production. Unfortunately, this type of scars are hard to remove completely, but they can still be treated to improve their appearance.
If you have an old or persistent scar that is causing you distress, there are treatments available to help reduce its texture and appearance, including the use of silicone technology.
Silicone technology involves using silicone gel or sheets to cover and protect the scar. This helps to hydrate the skin, reduce inflammation, and prevent further damage to the area. Silicone technology has been shown to improve the appearance of scars by reducing their size, thickness, and discoloration.
Silicone gel can be applied directly to the scar, while silicone sheets are worn over the scar for several hours a day. Both forms of silicone technology are non-invasive and can be used on scars of various sizes and types.
Dr. Liam Murphy, a board-certified dermatologist, on why MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel works
According to a 2020 study published in the International Wound Journal, the use of topical silicone gel for scar management may help prevent scarring, particularly hypertrophic and keloid scars.
Silicone gel treatments for old and new scars are effective, typically painless and easy to use at home, and have a low risk of side effects. The MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel fits all of the criteria. I usually recommend this to my patients who are dealing with scars as a topical treatment after surgery or an injury.
Why MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel
Our MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel is trusted by dermatologists and physicians around the world as a powerful scar protection and treatment. Our product is scientifically formulated to prevent scarring and relieve the associated discomfort like itchiness and inflammation. Its clinically-proven formula is designed to moisturize and repair the skin, flattening and diminishing the appearance of new and old scars with regular application.
This scar gel contains 100% medical-grade silicone that is suitable for all skin types. Its colorless, quick-drying formula penetrates deeply to heal all types of scars from minor cuts, acne, burns, scratches, C-section, and other surgical procedures.
As mentioned earlier, some scars get abnormally big or discolored due to the overproduction of collagen. The MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel treats a scar as soon as it starts to develop by locking in hydration to the freshly scarred area. This normalizes the production of collagen and prevents the new scar from becoming more uneven in color and texture.
This powerful silicone gel also works on old scars as it moisturizes and restores skin elasticity. Infused with a combination of skin-renewing, exfoliating, and nourishing ingredients, it softens, hydrates, and repairs the scarred tissue.
When applied directly to the scar, the potent formula balances the growth factors, breaking down the excess collagen during the healing process. It also helps make the skin firmer and smoother, making the scar appear less raised and discolored and fading it completely over time.
The Key Ingredients of MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel
-
Medical-grade silicone
Backed by numerous studies, silicone is known to be an effective treatment for scars, including keloid and hypertrophic scars. It forms a protective barrier over the scar, which helps to lock in moisture and create an optimal environment for healing. It also reduces redness, itching, and discomfort associated with scarring.
-
Retinol
Retinol helps promote collagen production, which is essential for skin repair. This form of vitamin A also helps to exfoliate the skin, removing dead cells from the outer layer of the scar and encouraging cell turnover. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory properties that can relieve redness, inflammation, and irritation associated with scarring.
-
Glycolic acid
Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid that helps to exfoliate the skin and reduce the appearance of scars. This effective chemical exfoliator improves skin texture and tone by getting rid of dead skin cells and promoting cell renewal, leaving a smoother appearance.
-
Comfrey extract (Allantoin)
Comfrey extract contains allantoin, a compound that has been shown to have healing and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps reduce inflammation and irritation and prevent scarring. This compound also helps activate tissue regeneration, which is beneficial for scar healing. Moreover, comfrey extract increases skin hydration and elasticity, thereby improving the overall appearance of scars.
-
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. Its moisturizing properties also help improve skin texture and tone and the overall appearance of scars by reducing dryness and flakiness.

Lara Martin shares her 2-month scar treatment with MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel.
Week 1:
I’ve had a major surgery recently, which left me with a scar on my lower abdomen. I bought the MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel in hopes of fading it or at least flatten it out. And after using this for about a week, I noticed my scar was getting lighter and getting less red.
Week 4:
I’ve been using this silicone gel for the past month, twice a day, and I’ve noticed a difference in terms of the depth, discoloration, and texture of my surgical scar. I also liked the consistency of this gel. It went on smoothly and clear, absorbed well, and left the skin hydrated and soothed.
Week 8:
It’s only been 2 months since I started using the MEDix™ Advanced Silicone Scar Gel, and my scar is already healing beautifully. I will continue to use and repurchase this until it is gone for good. But so far, I am liking the result.
