I bought this item for my son to help him with how he holds his pencil while writing. It works great. I even tried it out myself and it fits an adult fine. The material seems to be durable and it seems to function just as it is meant too.

My daughter, who is 5, has some fine motor delays. She still does not hold a writing utensil correctly and when I try to reposition her fingers she usually gets frustrated with me and just quits the activity. I ordered these and before using them had her OT look at them; she thought they were great. My daughter is now using them with crayons, pencils, and pens at home and at school and it’s going great. They are really helping her to have a proper grasp. I do occasionally have to redirect her as she’ll try to put her middle finger in the one hole instead of her pointer finger but once I reposition her fingers she’s good to go.

Call this quarantine-related, but I finally decided to address my daughter’s horrible handwriting. She has made it to 5th grade holding her pen/pencil incorrectly. I thought it was just a preference and let it go, however her handwriting is horrendous. So we are going to work on this while she and I both have extra time at home. Her fingers are obviously bigger than a pre-schooler’s, so I wanted to let you know that the product is adaptable to older ages as well. And it has quickly helped her. I have her writing a full-page essay each day with a grade-appropriate writing prompt. This gives her time to get some muscle memory of holding the pen correctly, and we can work on her neatness/grammer/spelling as well. I recommend this product.

It helped a lot in building the kids confidence in writing. The kid is not complaining anymore of finger pain. Writing manually is tolerable thanks to this product
