My first batch of doughnuts came out fine, see photo. The hole isn’t always as round as it could be, but that’s of no concern to me. I will fine-tune the recipes for proper batter viscosity and proper drop placement into the fryer and they’ll be perfect. I made the Old-Fashioned doughnuts, in regular and chocolate, with sugar, or sugar & cinnamon, or sugar & chocolate as the coatings. All three coatings came out well and the doughnuts taste excellent. The doughnut maker takes away the steps of having to roll-out dough and cut-out the doughnuts. It’s just plop, plop and the doughnuts are frying. Two cups of batter in the maker will make about 20 doughnuts. I’m very happy with this doughnut maker and I’m sure it will make many hundreds of dozens of excellent tasting doughnuts for me, and my friends.

It’s easy to use and good quality. Perfect for my food truck business. The consistency of the batter should be like waffle mix.

So I loved the product. I thought it was a lot of fun and easy to use. Two things I think made it work well. Let the dough rest for 30+ to thicken up. I also think chilling the dough a bit helps. I fried these donuts outside in MN on a mild January day and I think it inadvertently chilled the dough and helped them form.

This makes great donuts. Fairly easy to clean and is big enough to make plenty of donuts!
