I bought this to wash all of my husband’s hats. I have used it in the dishwasher with no issues. He curves the brim of his hats a lot and I was nervous it might flatten it but it didn’t; much to my relief.
I was also able to spray the whole hat (inside and out) while it was in the holder with stain remover. That was nice since I didn’t have to worry about getting the spray all over my hands.
My husband was also impressed with how clean his hats are now. Some of them he even said he forgot the original color of!! Ewe!!! I have already recommended this to friends and family!!

Product instructions stated a warning not to use in a washing machine rather run through dishwasher on top rack using dishwasher detergent without anti-water spot additive. I did that the first round having sprayed hat first with Oxi stain remover and let sit for hours before running thro dishwasher. It came out a lot cleaner but still needed additional cleaning. I sprayed it again and let sit then ran through front load washer with oxi clean added with detergent. Hat washer cage stayed tother and intact. Did not seem affected in any adverse way running through washer. Let air dry in hat cage.

This thing is perfect!! I put it to the test immediately and tried cleaning a white balm cap I had. Never fails I wear a white hat somewhere and it’s hot so I sweat which leaves your typical stains on a hat. I sprayed it with some laundry spray and wash and placed it in the top rack of the dishwasher. I wish I took before and after photos but trust me, the hat came out looking brand new and it kept its shape which is super important. This is a must buy if you want to clean and reuse your hats instead of having to replace them.

I have seen this for years and didn’t believe it would work. Especially after receiving it and seeing the tall crown section. However, it works fantastic. Even low crown hats fit fine. I own about 100 hats I’ve been collecting for more than 40 years. This is THE answer.

Cleaned my dirty caps with ease. Placed my curved caps in the cage, placed the cage on the top rack of dishwasher (without dishes in it). Added some detergent. Washed on Normal cycle, and Walla I had a clean cap again, like new. Kept in the cage till it air dried. It did not hurt the curve at all. But you can also curve the bill when it comes out of wash. (Though I didn’t need to).

It’s amazing how simple the Ballcap Buddy is but it works great! I have a very large head & it’s hard for me to find hats, especially fitted hats. I have this fitted ballcap that I wear everywhere & it was disgusting & it stunk. I was so nervous to put my favorite hat in the dishwasher but it was so nasty, I had no choice. It did not make my hats look new like some other reviewers but I did see a nice improvement I am happy I bought this, I never cleaned my hats before because I didn’t want them to lose shape which was gross but true and now I can wash them whenever I want.
