When I first ordered this set, I was a little nervous because, well, Musiclily is a Chinese company and, unfortunately, their country is well known for their cheap knock-offs of quality world products. Still, after reading the plethora of positive reviews, I dipped my toes in principally because of Amazon’s healthy return policy. I received them this morning; installation took about 10 minutes. I

Used these on a budget rebuild of a cheap Chinese guitar that was given to me. Rebuild went well, tuners are surprisingly very good quality, especially for the price. Definitely a good upgrade for starter guitars and cheapo ones.

These tuners were (almost) exactly what I needed. They fit without drilling, but by the high E end of the row, the tuners noticeably lean to the left (as viewed from the back). Not a big deal as this is a travel guitar for me. As long as it functions, I don’t have a problem with it. Love locking tuners. I’ve bought them for all my guitars.

These tuners are a real value. I Modd Squier Guitars often and these are a good upgrade while leaving money left in the budget for more upgrades. They install easily, hold tune properly and securely, no slippage. In my experience reading reviews all locking tuners have been reported as faulty because the operator likely over tightened the lock knob and shearing the pin. They don’t have to be cranked really tight and for added security I wrap the E string one whole wrap. Not much effort for added security and tuner longevity. I highly recommend this product for any import Guitar or otherwise.

These work better then the stock ones that came on my Jackson everything threads smoothly and feels solid and they fit exact like factory screw holes line up and everything.

Ok so far these things are pretty alright. I did have one tuner where the locking peg got stuck inside the tuner and the thumb wheel in the back came all the way unthreaded. Easy fix, grabbed it gently with a set of pliers and gently unthreaded the locking post from inside the tuner. I then rethreaded the locking peg to the thumb wheel and added a bit of blue loctite to keep it secure down the road. I stung this guitar up with a set of 9s and tuned it up. So far no string slippage on the B & E strings and they lock just fine. I also went ahead and added a bit of PTFE dry lube to the gears and worked it in by using a tuning peg tool. They feel nice and smooth and have been very stable. Don’t let the 15:1 gear ratio scare you away these still feel very solid as far as budget tuners go and have no dead spots. Using them with a trem as well and they hold tune just fine. At half price of Hipshots, these are worth it if you just take a few extra mins to make the small improvements I did. I will definitely start using these on my budget builds and stop buying hipshots for my cheap projects as these work just fine. If I could I would give 4.5 stars just for the locking pegs getting stuck in the tuner and the thumb wheel coming unthreaded from the locking peg being stuck. It’s a minor inconvenience when installing. Overall they work just fine.
